What is a Dialup Internet Service?
Dialup Internet Service is a service that allows access to the Internet via standard telephone line. Just connect the telephone line to a modem in the computer and insert the other end into the phone jack, and then configure the computer to dial a specific number that was provided by ISP, this means the use can access the internet on their computer.
To get a dial up connection, the user needs to have a computer and a modem. There are many types of modems for user to choose, and they are also inexpensive. The modem can be an internal modem that installed in free slot of computer, or external model that hooks up to computer via cable. And the telephone line is linked to the computer.
A username and a password are required to allow access to the dial up gateway to the Internet.
With dial up internet, user cannot use the phone and internet at the same time.
In conclusion, dial up internet is an inexpensive way for getting internet service. But beware that you cannot use the phone when you use internet.
